Impassibility (2008)

A video clip takes the ‘escapist’ route that most Israelis prefer to take, to bypass the occupation, enjoying music on the radio and engaging in mundane conversations. 

 

Impassibility  was exhibited as part of Mystery of Enchanted Cars by Toxic Dreams (2009), Danube Festival (Austria). Positioned within the boot of the car, the installation echoed the searches that Palestinians’ cars are subjected to at the checkpoints, some of which feature in Impassability.
