Out Damned Spot - Out!  - Work in Progress (2024). Video 4 mins. 

 

The work was created as 2024 was drawing to a close and despite mass protests and the International Court of Justice's ruling, the Gaza genocide was increasingly ignored by mainstream media and governments around the world. Taking its queue from Lady Macbeth's famous sleepwalk speech as she tries to cleanse her hands from the atrocities she helped carry out, Out Damned Spot - Out! Work in Progress runs on a continuous loop to remind us that, like the blood stained hands of the Lady, this particular nightmare will not go away.  

 

Out Damned Spot - Out!  Work in Progress was first shown as part of How Do We Count the Dead? exhibition at the Palestine Museum, Bristol during December 2024.
