Blind Spot Drawings Series (Ongoing)
Materials and dimensions variable.
The drawings take their cue from old fashioned jigsaw puzzles and specifically a 1950s game - Maze O Lines - where a maze of lines masks shapes and objects that players are tasked with identifying. The first drawing of the series, which was graphite and ink on paper, was titled Things That Go Boo in the Nighttime (2017). It depicts numerous man-made disasters (nuclear explosions, floods and famine to name but a few) that are part obscured by a maze of lines.
In 2020 a new iteration of the work was created for Draw Me a Home exhibition. These were created in response to provocations posted online and exhibited as inkjet prints in gallery window as well as being available as downloads to 'colour in' at home. The downloads are still available here.
