Beneath the Surface - the Exhibition  (2002). Mixed media and dimensions variable.

Site specific solo exhibition.

A commission to curate an exhibition documenting the archaeological layers of Arbury - a neighbourhood in Cambridge constructed during the 1950s. Display cases were placed in local sites such as the shop, pub, doctors surgery, the community colleges, community centres and a sheltered housing for the elderly. Each display case included at least three items: from the council’s archaeological store, an item from the time the estates were being built and one contemporary object. Many of the contemporary objects were collected following interactions and conversations with local residents.

Produced by Classworks Theatre Company in collaboration with Cambridge city archive, Cambridgeshire County Council's archaeological unit.
